f.a.l.t.u is more interesting then game

This Friday had a shock in store for the makers of Game. The film was trumped at the box office by the much-smaller production F.A.L.T.U.

Game, directed by Abhinay Deo and starring Abhishek Bachchan, Kangana Ranaut, Sarah Jane Dias, opened to a dull 5 to 10 percent response at theaters. The film’s failure to take a good opening can’t be ascribed to the ongoing cricket world cup because the other release of the week, F.A.L.T.U opened to a heartening 50 to 80 percent response at box office.

Clearly, the comedy film featuring the non-stars like Jacky Bhagnani, Puja Gupta, Angad Bedi and Arshad Warsi has been able to draw more footfalls than Game which has, apart from big stars, scenic locations of Istanbul, London and Greece.

What seems to have worked in the favor of F.A.L.T.U is its feelgood theme of youngsters who form their own university after failing to get admission anywhere. On the other hand, Game has been panned by the critics for being too slow and lackluster.
